Medi-Plus EMR was developed and used in a primary care setting between 1994 and 2014 in Quebec City, Canada to facilitate its use.
As of 2013, we have been interested in integrating SNOMED CT medical terminology, as it is very comprehensive, while allowing us to clarify the context of the concepts used in terms of the level of complexity required given the priorities clinics set with the client and consistent with the expected duration of the encounter.
Codes in the SNOMED CT terminology may also be associated with codes in another system of codes or statistical classification whose codes have the same meaning (or a similar meaning).
As a clinician, I followed the various trainings of this terminology by the IHTSDO organization on the Introduction to SNOMED, the introduction of the SNOMED CT Content and the implementation of the SNOMED CT terminology.
In the future, we plan to implement SNOMED CT terminology in DMÉ Medi-Plus by the end of 2019, given the complex process and objectives.
